Families cross the finishline at "10k With a Cop' in Downtown Modesto

Modesto City Schools showed up strong at this year’s '10K With a Cop,' an annual community run held in Downtown Modesto to strengthen connections between students and local law enforcement. The event brought together families, educators, officers, and community members for a morning of movement, mentorship, and meaningful conversation.

According to Officer Sean Dodge, who is a driving force behind the event, 1,026 runners registered for the event, including 375 students and staff from MCS. Among them were 27 staff members and mentors who ran alongside students, offering encouragement every step of the way. With vendors, volunteers, and supporters lining the route, overall attendance was estimated between 1,300 and 1,500, a bigger crowd than last year.

Now active in nearly 20 MCS schools, '10K With a Cop' continues to grow as a powerful way to build trust, set goals, and celebrate student success. Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!
